Union Health Minister JP Nadda launches Tetanus and Diphtheria vaccine

Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda today launched the Tetanus and Diphtheria vaccine at the Central Research Institute located in Kasauli, Solan district. On this occasion, the Union Minister said that the Central Research Institute, Kasauli has played a significant role in the invention and development of indigenous vaccines. He appreciated the efforts of the institute in developing the vaccine.


He said that India has achieved remarkable milestones in the field of healthcare and pharmaceuticals, with a special contribution from the Central Research Institute, Kasauli. Mr. Nadda said that this indigenous vaccine is an important step towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making Atmnirbhar Bharat in the health sector.


The Health Minister said that India is known as the Pharmacy of the World, and the Universal Immunization Programme is the world’s largest immunization programme. To strengthen this programme, the Central Research Institute, Kasauli will supply 5.5 million doses by April 2026.
