Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse incentives worth two thousand 400 crore rupees under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) in New Delhi today. Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said that since August last year, more than 63 lakh employees have been brought into the formal workforce under PM-VBRY, of whom nearly 30 per cent are women. He said that over 80 per cent of establishments, incentivised under this scheme, are small enterprises with fewer than 25 workers.
Dr Mandaviya said that the youth securing their first government job will receive an incentive of up to 15 thousand rupees in two installments. He stated that the incentives will be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer to more than 15 lakh beneficiaries during the programme. He highlighted the yojana’s role in supporting small and emerging enterprises while promoting employment generation, which remains the backbone of India’s economy.
