Union Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement will open a new chapter of growth for India’s textile sector.
In a social media post, Mr Joshi said that the trade deal expands access to the 113.76 billion dollar US markets, improving export competitiveness through major tariff reductions.
He noted that with this move Ready-Made Garments, Carpets and Textile segments are poised for accelerated growth.
Mr Joshi highlighted that this milestone achieved under Prime Minister Narendra Modi will strengthen India’s journey towards becoming a global textile powerhouse.
