Dr. P. N. Swamy: A Trailblazer in Rural Finance

Dr. P. N. Swamy is a distinguished expert in finance and banking, particularly within the rural sector of Karnataka. He served as the General Manager of Administration at Tumakuru Smart City Limited, where he effectively led a diverse team of over 25 engineers and project management consultants. His leadership was instrumental in the development of the Smart City Plan (SCP) for Tumakuru, overseeing the design, appraisal, and implementation of various projects while reporting directly to both the Managing Director and the Chairman. His ability to coordinate such a large team and manage complex projects showcases his strong organizational and leadership skills.

In his previous role as Regional Manager at Kaveri Grameena Bank, Dr. Swamy managed a substantial team of more than 300 members across the Bangalore Metro and Bangalore Rural District for over four years. Notably, more than half of his team consisted of newly recruited officers and employees, highlighting his capability in training and integrating new talent into the organization. His extensive experience in the banking sector, combined with his academic background, has equipped him with a deep understanding of the financial needs and challenges faced by rural communities.

Dr. Swamy holds a Doctorate in Rural Banking and Finance Management from Washington Digital University in the United States, along with multiple master's degrees in Sociology and Economics from Karnataka and Punjab Universities, respectively. He also possesses a Post-Graduate Diploma in Statistics and degrees in General Law and Science from Bangalore University. With over three decades of administrative experience in a Regional Rural Bank and significant management experience in a Government of India company, he has been involved in various capacities, including research and project associate roles. His contributions to the field have been recognized with the National Talent Award 2024 from the Veyil Foundation, underscoring his commitment to community development and socio-economic studies.
