Eleven Indian Fishermen Released from Sri Lankan Prison Arrive in Chennai
Eleven fishermen who were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy and released from Srilankan Prison reached Chennai. Of the eleven fishermen, four hailed from Ramanathapuram, and the other seven fishermen belonged to Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai districts. They were arrested in July last year and were caught by the Sri Lankan Navy for trespassing into international waters. They were released from Srilankan Prisons and handed over to Indian immigration authorities.

DMDK Joins DMK-Led Democratic Progressive Alliance Ahead of Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls
In Tamil Nadu, the DMDK Party, founded by late actor-politician Vijaykant, has joined an alliance with the Democratic Progressive Alliance headed by DMK ahead of the State Assembly elections. In an interaction with the media today, General Secretary of DMDK, Premalatha Vijaykant, said that this is the first time that the party will ally with DMK. It is to be noted that the party had allied with AIADMK multiple times to face the Assembly election.
